Use them or lose them!

Here’s something you should know: most dental benefit plans purchased through employers, expire at the end of the year. So while you might be fortunate enough to have dental benefits, if you don’t use them you are basically throwing away part of your salary.

It is really important that you find out exactly what you are covered for and try to schedule those appointments before it’s too late. You might be thinking medical benefits are only meant to be used if and when necessary – which makes sense. But what many people do not realise is that dentistry is the kind of medical care you need for both preventative and corrective treatment.

You need to have your teeth and gums examined by a professional on a regular basis not just when you feel pain. If you are feeling small amounts of pain that comes and goes do not put it off. Have a dentist look at it to figure out the root cause before it gets worse.

Your oral health is linked to your general health in so many ways and if you have benefits there really is no excuse. Whether you’ve noticed a pain in your tooth or just want to go in for a regular checkup, remember that prevention is always better than treatment and treating minor issues saves you the time, pain and cost involved in advanced procedures

If you are having trouble deciphering what your benefits cover, give your provider a call. You can also give the team here at Denali Dental call – we would be happy to take a look at your plan and explain any confusion.
